Intershop Inside: Discover Who We Are
As e-commerce pioneers, we know that every success story is built on challenges. That is why we value sustained development over fast but uncertain growth. We take it one step at a time, improving every day and actively shaping the future of e-commerce.
Your typical working day at Intershop is that there is no typical working day. Our motto: evolution, not stagnation. We’re constantly developing our products and processes. That requires passion, determination, and openness to change—this is the spirit that carries us forward.
Planning to stick around for a while? That’s great! We can offer you a long-term position that’s more than just a job. Above all, we want you to be successful, happy, and fulfilled. We’ll talk about your salary and benefits in an in-person interview. But no worries: that’s just another good reason to join Intershop.
Your professional development is important to us. We care about your interests, your experience, and your expertise. Discover which training, coaching, or mentoring program is right for you in consultation with your team leader.
In addition to external seminars and workshops, we provide lots of in-house training. The benefits are two-fold: there’s no extra travel, and you’ll soon be on the same page as your coworkers. This is the basis for our future development activities—in partnership with professional training experts.
As a manager, you’ll step directly into our LEAD development program (Learn, Execute, Assess, Develop). We’ll help you find your own personal development path through training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing. We also support a strong internal network for middle management staff.
Need the morning off for childcare or errands? No problem. We offer mobile working, including from home, as well as flexible working hours.
And if a child is sick and you have to stay home, we’ll pay 30 percent of your salary to supplement your health insurance—and 100 percent from the eleventh day on.
Your fitness matters. As an Intershop employee, you qualify for discounts at selected gyms. We also maintain fitness in lots of other ways—from jogging and hiking to go-karting and table soccer.
Need refreshments? All our locations have free fruit and beverages, including every kind of coffee you could possibly want.
Your health is crucial, too. Our in-house doctor is always ready with a sympathetic ear. We can also help with any vaccinations you might need, including costs. And if you just need to relax, our massage service is there for you.
We offer exciting and challenging responsibilities in a growing SME. At Intershop, you’ll find experienced and highly qualified coworkers, market-leading solutions for digital transformation, and an open business culture that makes for a fun workplace.
Before you dive in, we’ll introduce you to our headquarters in Jena, Germany. You’ll learn all about the various departments and what happens where and when. In our in-depth product training, we’ll familiarize you with our entire product range. We also help with any questions you might have, technical or otherwise.
We mostly work in teams. Between 5 and 50 coworkers work together on specific tasks. A single project can take anything from a few weeks to up to three years. Communication skills are essential and, depending on your role, you may also need to be a good negotiator.
If you’re just starting your career, what you did in school isn’t as important as where you want to go now. We need open and communicative people who know what they are doing. And if you need a new challenge at any point, you can easily move to another exciting part of the Intershop world.
As a professional, your job is to ensure that Intershop e-commerce runs smoothly. Our product developers, for example, keep our software up to date and at the cutting edge of innovation. They are committed to continuous improvement of our solutions. We love innovation, but every new idea also has to be tested, which is why we have talented professionals onboard who know exactly what to look out for.
As a manager, you’re not only a leader, you also serve as coach and play an important role in the professional and personal development of your people. And when you join us at Intershop, you step straight into our LEAD program. In addition, you benefit from a strong internal network for middle management staff that supports our shared leadership philosophy.
