Your mission
As a Junior AI Engineer (m/f/d), you'll work on developing and integrating modern AI-powered copilots and agent-based systems for Intershop's Agentic B2B Commerce Platform. The focus of your position is on developing and integrating AI functionalities. In this role, you will gradually take on responsibility for the following tasks:
- Copilots & Agents
- Participation in the design, development, and integration of copilots and AI agents
- Support for the integration of AI features into the platform
- Development, maintenance, and expansion of agent-based workflows
- Use of agent orchestration approaches
- AI-Platform, Standards & Technologies
- Implementation of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches
- Use of semantic search (Vector Search)
- Support the development and integration of context and tooling standards for agents and copilots
- Participation in the setup and development of agent infrastructure and frameworks within the platform
- Evaluation of new AI technologies, models, frameworks, and tools
- Deployment and operation of AI solutions in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft AI Foundry
- Full-Stack AI Development
- Contribute to full-stack AI solutions across frontend, backend, and AI components
- Development of backend services and interfaces, e.g., using Python and Java
- Implementation of front-end components, e.g., using Angular and JavaScript
- Use of low-code approaches, where appropriate, for the rapid implementation, integration, or orchestration of AI functions
- Support for proof-of-concept projects with customers
- Models & Data
- Evaluating models
- Fine-tuning of subject-specific AI models
- Data collection and processing
- Support in optimizing data, training, and inference pipelines
- Contributing to the further development of AI strategies, standards, and best practices
Your profile
In addition to a university degree in computer science, business informatics, or a related field, you should have the following knowledge and skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and JavaScript
- Basic understanding of front-end and back-end architectures
- Initial experience with LLMs, copilots, AI agents, and RAG
- Optional: Experience with Microsoft Azure, ideally also Microsoft AI Foundry
- Interest in agent-based architectures, context-aware AI systems, and open standards
- Openness to low-code and hybrid development approaches
