Jena, Germany, November 19, 2019 – The Boie GmbH went online with their new shop boie.de. From now on the company bundles the sales for its customers from mechanical engineering, metalworking and maintenance there. The family business, which began more than 150 years ago as a plumber and installation company, is today one of the most important companies in the technical wholesale business in Germany.
As such, it successfully uses the digital commerce. The existing shop no longer offered sufficient possibilities to meet the individual requirements of the customers. A more modern sales concept was developed for requirements in the areas of rolling bearings, drive technology, automation, tools and industrial supplies. Using the experience gained, the offering was lifted to a new level with the help of the Intershop-based enterprise solution.
Hans Boie, Managing Director, explains: "Our customers' procurement processes are in a state of transition. New concepts, individual solutions and offer options are being sought. Our online offering provides our customers with a targeted response to their needs. Each customer has his "own" shop after logging in. Beginning with the prices, to the assortment up to the individual conditions. The close connection to our ERP system offers us and our customers a high level of transparency and direct access".
In the login area, customers find simple order tracking and history, a faster order process and direct access to stored products in the shopping cart.
Jochen Wiechen, CEO of Intershop: "Hans Boie knows exactly what his customers want. His company carefully addresses these requirements with its portfolio and range of services. In doing so, he not only uses the decades of industry knowledge of his family-owned company, but also makes consistent use of our company's online expertise. We are already looking forward to further cooperation".
Boie has its eyes set on the next stages of digital sales. In addition to the constant growth of the product range available online, further concepts such as IoT and other services in the customer portal will play an important role in the mid-term.
