Jena, November 15, 2023 – The "Digital-Gipfel der Bundesregierung" (Federal Government's Digital Summit) will take place in Jena on November 20 and 21, 2023. The motto of this year's event is: Digital transformation at the turn of an era. Sustainable. Resilient. Future-oriented.
Intershop Communications AG is represented in both the main program and the supporting program "Markt der digitalen Möglichkeiten" (market of digital possibilities) and offers interested citizens the opportunity to visit the Intershop headquarters as part of the "E-Commerce-Standort Jena" (e-commerce location Jena) theme tour to learn more about the company.
In the panel discussion "Innovationsstandort Jena: Eine Stadt als Impulsgeber für die digitale Transformation in der Zeitenwende" (Innovation hub Jena: A city as a driving force for digital transformation at the turn of an era), Intershop's CEO Markus Klahn will talk about sustainability and digitalization together with Stephanie Hänsch, Managing Director at Accenture DACH. Other topics on the panel include sustainability and digitalization as well as resilience and digitalization. The discussion will take place on November 21 at 1 p.m. in the Ernst-Abbe-Saal in the Volkshaus Jena and can only be attended with prior registration.

Besides the main program, a new format for the supporting program has been created with the market of digital possibilities. Intershop will be represented at the Friedrich Schiller University and will provide exclusive insights into a current AI project: The Intershop Copilot as Sustainability Assistant. The public fair is open on November 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to the main and supporting program, Intershop is also part of the e-commerce location Jena theme tour and will be opening its doors to interested citizens. Other stops on the tour include dotSource SE and rooom AG. The tour starts at 1 p.m. at Friedrich Schiller University and places are limited.
Furthermore, a special edition of the "Digitalmonitor" commissioned by the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society has been published to mark the Digital Summit 2023. In it, Markus Klahn speaks in a double interview with Christian Schädlich, expert for digital economy at the Thuringian ZeTT, on the topic of AI to reduce the carbon footprint in B2B e-commerce.
