Your mission

​As an Intershop ​Business ​Development ​Representative (m/f/d), you are an essential interface between our marketing and sales teams and our prospective clients. The ideal candidate is an experienced, aggressive inside salesperson with an energetic, can-do attitude who helps define the sales roadmap through engagement with target accounts. Your role is to seek out and engage “ideal client profile” prospect companies through strategic prospecting. To do this you will leverage ​Intershop’s existing leads and generate new interest through calls / e-prospecting. The main responsibilities of the Business ​Development ​Representative (m/f/d) are to build a pipeline of potential prospects and to secure net new meetings with those prospects for the firm.  This effort will be aided by the Intershop marketing team and accomplished by assisting the sales team with acquiring new, targeted clients for Intershop. The Intershop ​Business ​Development ​Representative (m/f/d) is a motivated team player with a good understanding and practical experience of building relationships with third parties and the internal teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently meet or exceed weekly prospecting calls, emails, leads and meeting targets
  • Conduct introductory on-line and phone presentations of Intershop to unqualified prospective clients
  • Possess knowledge of Intershop’s product capabilities, services and differentiators and use that knowledge within our ideal customer profile (ICP) leading to the development of targeted sales opportunities
  • In conjunction with supervisor and/or RSDs in the territory, build out a new business go-to-market (GTM) prospecting plan by proper ICP profiling
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support marketing campaign strategies that drive awareness and pipeline growth
  • Multi-touch follow-up on marketing qualified leads (MQL’s) and inbound inquiries to guarantee conversion along the sales lifecycle
  • Demonstrate knowledge of existing Intershop clients including their names, eCommerce solution, project and client industry profiles
  • Have a good understanding of client names / references for our major vertical industry manufacturing and wholesale distribution
  • Implement and use new technology and follow-up processes to support marketing strategy including HubSpot, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo.
  • Develop new sales leads through various marketing activities, cold calling and networking
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of and working relationship with our key partners
  • Work with inside sales teams at partners to mutually align and pursue target accounts / objectives
  • Understand the larger eCommerce ecosystem players such as Order Management Systems, Personalization, Tax and other tools. Know where they fit into Intershop solutions and client environments
  • Provide feedback to supervisor on progress, opportunities and/or issues
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Your profile

  • College degree
  • One year experience of inside sales within the technology, or marketing industry
  • Experience prospecting in a technical field
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas
  • Solid relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial in nature:  have a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, growing environment with minimal oversight
  • Innate drive to succeed and willingness to take action
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills to back up assumptions and drive actions
  • Understanding of cultural differences in doing business with international colleagues and customers
