Jena, Germany, July 11, 2013 – Intershop today announces that Calumet Photographic, a leading global provider of professional photographic equipment and services, has chosen Intershop 7 to underpin its soon to be re-launched online shopping platform. The company is changing software providers to further expand its reach in online sales and seamlessly integrate this additional sales channel with its local retails stores in the USA and EMEA.
Moving to Intershop 7 was necessary due to the high growth rate the company had seen over the last years. Intershop was selected for its expertise in both markets, with the goal of establishing an easy-to-manage, yet high-performance multi-lingual global platform with local sub-stores.
Resulting from a close cross-continental cooperation between teams in Europe and the US, Intershop is now supporting Calumet Photographic with a solution that addresses its complex platform requirements, accounting for customer relationships in different countries with diverging tax values and different portfolios.
“Intershop’s deep understanding of how sales processes work in our key target markets, combined with a highly flexible solution, is what convinced us to sign this deal,” says Christof Bergmann, Managing Director Calumet Europe. “We are able to greatly reduce the time-to-market of our platform re-launch based on Intershop's substantial heritage in tailoring e-commerce shops to the needs of international companies. We now have an e-commerce platform that allows us to easily run a variety of campaigns and promotions – a highly effective marketing tool in an industry where competitive pricing is key.”
