High-Quality Information Signals Competence and Creates Trust

Intershop Product Information Management

Intershop’s Product Information Management system contains all the tools you need to build catalog structures, define product types and attributes, gather and edit content, and share product information with third-party systems and external data sources. It also features automated validation processes that ensure the quality and completeness of all information.

You can centrally manage unlimited numbers of products and product master data records with fully localizable standard and user-definable attributes. Techniques, such as batch processing and product labeling, simplify the mass processing of products.

Using rules-based and individually configurable completeness checks, you can validate the integrity of your product data—before you commit to publishing. Fast navigation to incomplete product data allows quick correction of errors.

Product data management supports a wide range of product types, product variants, and bundles. Product relationships can be used to display products for cross- and up-selling. If a product is unavailable, customers can be directed to alternative products. Accessories, spare parts, successor versions, or additional warranties can likewise be presented.

User-friendly catalog management functionality and classification standards enable consistent product classification and categorization. Classified product data can be prepared, maintained, and made available more quickly. Classification makes it easier to share product data internally and/or externally. It also optimizes search accuracy.

Product syndication allows the creation of dedicated product records from your main catalog for use by foreign and local subsidiaries or specific customer groups. Segment-specific product data can be modified, localized, and enriched as required.

Product list prices and bulk prices can be defined in a range of currencies. It’s also possible to define special prices for customer segments or time-specific activities. Prices are displayed as gross or net. Tax is calculated based on product tax classes.

All product content in one place

Pull together your product data from multiple sources and classify it for more efficient editing, more accurate search results, and easier exchange between internal and/or external business units.

More time for individual sorting and configuration of your catalog

Standard catalogs and classifications combined with time-controlled imports give you more time to fine-tune your catalogs. Each catalog, each category, and all assigned products can be modified in terms of sorting and layout in order to personalize the shopping experience for each individual customer or customer segment. Individual rules based on product attributes enable dynamic assignment of products, catalogs, and categories.

Ensure the quality of your product information before publication

High-quality product information give you better product search and SEO results, thereby improving the visibility of your product range. Incomplete product information and product master data, including user-defined attributes and images, can be automatically located using configurable rules to achieve higher product data quality. Fast navigation to incomplete product data enables efficient correction.

Link products, offer alternatives, and increase order values

Increase order values by linking products with other products, product types, and categories. If the product a customer is searching for is currently not in stock, you can offer alternatives instead. You can also display related products on the shopping cart page based on the products the customer has already placed in the cart. On the product details page, you can show similar products at different price points, accessories, spare parts, and successor versions of the currently selected product. You can also link to other product types, such as gift wrapping or warranties.

Consistent product ranges and relevant product information across all touchpoints and regions

Use the same catalogs for every touchpoint to ensure a consistent offering across all channels. It’s also possible to add individual catalogs locally to accommodate the market-specific requirements of local organizations and the various touchpoints.
