First comparison website of this scale specifically tailored to the furniture industry

  • WoonZoo.nl, Sanoma’s new online interior design portal officially went live for consumers at the opening of the Woonbeurs 2008 Interior Design Fair

Inspiring and supporting consumers
WoonZoo.nl is intended to inspire and support consumers in their interior design choices. Furniture, fixtures and other home accessories are clearly categorized by brand, design, style and price, making WoonZoo.nl the preferred starting point for many consumers in their shopping experience. WoonZoo is the first comparison website of this scale specifically tailored to the furniture industry. “We toyed with the idea a few years ago, but the target market was not yet ready. Current technology and our strong position in interior design magazines have guaranteed the success of this initiative”, says Myrthe van der Erve, Manager Online Wonen.

Combined Knowledge of e-commerce and the interior design industry

“We were asked to build a website that, on the one hand, supported consumers in their choice of interiors, and, on the other, offered suppliers a platform for generating visits to their retail stores. Content is crucial to this website. Thanks to our experience in the interior design industry, we were able to work closely with Sanoma and help them to reach and exceed their goals,” says Ronald Vermeulen, Commercial Director for Eperium. Vermeulen adds,”We worked together to exchange ideas and build a business case and at the beginning of the year we started building the website using Intershop technology. De Nieuwe Zaak took care of the graphic design efforts. We are very proud of the result and hope to support many consumers in their interior design choices.”
