Stadtwerke Rostock AG implements interactive portal based on Intershop software

Jena, Germany, May 14, 2013 – Intershop Communications AG, provider of innovative e-commerce solutions and services, wins another major client: Stadtwerke Rostock AG. An energy provider based on Germany’s Baltic coast, Stadtwerke Rostock AG chose the turnkey solution for the utility sector developed by Intershop in partnership with T-Systems Multimedia Solutions when it decided to implement an online customer portal. The portal is an investment in both long-term customer loyalty and more efficient business processes.

Stadtwerke Rostock AG supplies gas and electricity to approximately 150,000 customers. It also operates a district heating network that currently includes more than 60% of the residential properties in Rostock. Committed to high standards of service, the company wants to enable customers to manage their own account details online and view billing, contract, and other information via a convenient self-service portal. In addition, the new system will include a customer advisor portal where local customer center staff can access account details on behalf of customers, update information, alter pricing plans, and provide information on current energy consumption.

There are also powerful graphic tools for visual representation of user data, such as energy consumption and cost.
