Jena, Germany, December 21, 2010 – Sports retailer SportScheck is bringing its offerings to mobile devices and simplifying product searches on smart phones via Intershop’s Mobile Connector. SportScheck already deploys Enfinity Suite for its online store. Using special interfaces, the packaged software supports both native applications (i.e., developed for a specific type of device) and mobile Web applications, which support all mobile devices. One of each application type is now live. The Mobile Connector is based on the technology of partner Sevenval.
With a special application (app) for iPhones called SportScheck Outfitter, customers will be able to take a picture of a snowboard jacket while on the piste, for example, and view available models in the SportScheck collection. The app includes a FactFinder function, which customers can use to conveniently access the required item and product data and start the order process. An extended version will follow in November 2010 with an illustrated shopping cart within the app and integrated service pages, such as My Account and FAQs. For users of other smart phones or mobile devices, SportScheck provides a mobile Web application. This browser-based solution comprises the same search and order functions, but with less specific operational functions.
