Jena, Germany, November 28, 2018 – Intershop supports ShipSupport.com, a start-up by Royal IHC, with a digital commerce platform dedicated to deliver high-quality spare parts for dredging- and offshore vessels globally.
ShipSupport is dedicated to supporting their clients and global partners by providing a more efficient way to maximize performance and uptime. A one-stop-online-shop for the maritime industry shipping top quality spare parts anywhere around the world. The commerce software solution is hosted in Microsoft Azure, and additionally to the diverse and complex business processes that are already embedded in the Intershop Commerce Suite, the Product Information Management will take care of the 200.000 - and counting - products.
Dave Vander Heyde, CEO Royal IHC, is quick to respond when asked what sets ShipSupport.com apart from other e-commerce platforms available in the maritime industry: “If we sell a product of which its uptime lasts over the life cycle of the vessel or the piece of equipment, then we have a very happy customer. An open e-commerce platform is something new in our industry and I believe the time has come to move forward.”
Markus Klahn, COO of Intershop reflects: “ShipSupport.com is a corporate start-up with the complexity of a global market leader. This requires a solution that has rich B2B functionality, fast time to market, can start small and has unprecedented scalability. The Intershop Commerce Suite is ideal for such scenarios.”
“Ordering spare parts should be a simple and efficient process, available at all times and accessible anywhere in the world,” says Maaike de Rover, initiatorGeneral Manager and one of the driving forces behind the corporate start-up. She already presented the project’s challenges and success during Intershop’s “Raise the Bar” event and at the B2B Online on November 28 and 29 in Amsterdam.
This project was implemented by Intershop’s Partner of the Year 2018, Evident.
