Quelle’s German Internet portal now powered by latest software from Intershop

Migration to Enfinity Suite 6.2

  • Successful, fast migration of quelle.de to the latest version of Enfinity Suite 6 delivers enhanced performance and mature functionality

Jena, Germany, November 12, 2008 – At the beginning of September, the online store operated by leading mail-order company Quelle went live based on a new software version. Migration to Enfinity Suite 6.2 (64-bit Linux) from Intershop took just a few weeks to complete.

For Primondo, the Quelle Group’s parent company, the new system offers a range of advantages:

  • Enhanced out-of-the-box functionality enables Quelle to make the Internet shopping experience even richer and more convenient for its customers, without the need for signification customization effort.
  • The new Enfinity version is exceptionally powerful. Last weekend saw the site handling record numbers of visitors and transactions, but system load remained toward the lower end of operating capacity. This makes an important contribution to maximizing sales, because the online store will offer fast, reliable service even during peak periods.
  • “Having migrated its most successful and best-known Web marketplace, Primondo is now operating all online Quelle stores on the same technology platform – Enfinity Suite 6.2,” reports Helge Melzig, head of IT e-commerce at Primondo. “This reduces system maintenance, as well as generating new synergies, such as fast roll-out of advanced functionalities across different Internet portals.”

“The migration process was textbook: everything went smoothly, quickly, and exactly to plan. Enfinity Suite 6.2 provides us with an excellent foundation for making online shopping even more enjoyable, interesting and easier for our customers. The technology is uniform and the system is exceptionally close to standard, but still unique to each online store,” says Ludger Schöllgen, head of new media at Quelle GmbH.
