Intershop Selected as Finalist at Retail Systems Awards 2015

Jena, Germany, 23 July, 2015 – Intershop Communications today announced that it has been shortlisted for the Retail Systems Awards 2015, for supplying the e-commerce platform for Mister Spex’s new UK online shop. Intershop is one of six finalists in the ‘Online Technology Vendor of the Year’ category.

Mister Spex re-launched its UK web shop in September 2014 as part of its international growth strategy. The new online shop is based on the Intershop Commerce Suite and allows customers to browse and buy more than 7,000 different models of eyewear, contact lenses and care products online. As part of the implementation project, data for 240,000 products, 1.3 million customers and 2.3 million orders were migrated from an old platform to the new one. Extensive performance optimisation was carried out to ensure that the complex product and price configurator does not slow website responsiveness down.

The UK web shop has since served as a blueprint for the expansion of Mister Spex’s other international websites.

The Retail Systems Awards, which are celebrating their 10th Anniversary have experienced the highest number of entries on record, making it an even greater achievement to be shortlisted this year. The winners will be determined by an independent judging panel and announced at the renowned Retail Systems Awards Gala and Dinner on 15 October 2015 at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Retail Systems Awards, Retail Systems are giving readers the chance to vote for their landmark retail technology moment from the last 10 years. The ‘Retail Systems Most Defining Moment’ winner will be determined by public vote and announced at the awards gala.
