Jena, July 20, 2007 - On July 19, Hamburg-based Otto Group and hagebau went live with their joint e-commerce site at after a project lasting just 4 months. The new Internet-based home improvement store adds direct online ordering to the multi-channel retailer’s existing brick-and-mortar outlets and mail-order business.

Intershop Communications AG was tasked with providing the software and delivering the project, with its Enfinity Suite 6 packaged e-commerce software once again being deployed in a major project. Integration of state-of-the-art technologies, such as, Ajax, Google Maps, RSS, and product evaluations, offers online customers a rich and attractive shopping experience. The search engine optimized Web store makes it quick and easy for customers using services like Google and Yahoo to find the required products in hagebau’s Internet product range. Enfinity Suite 6 also ensures that will be able to cope with an-ticipated future sales growth.
