Intershop gains largest service order in company history

The contract encompasses services with a total value of around EUR 13 million over a period of three years

Jena, (Germany) June 30, 2009 – Intershop Communications AG, provider of integrated e-commerce solutions, has received the largest service order in its history from the Australian telecommunications company Telstra. The contract encompasses services with a total value of around AUD 22.6 million over a period of three years, which corresponds to around EUR 13 million. The order volume breaks down as approximately EUR 4.5 million in the first year, with EUR 4,3 million and EUR 4.2 million in the second and third years respectively.

The contract, which starts on July 1, 2009, follows on from a previous project for the Australian group. In June 2008 Intershop already developed a C-to-C platform dedicated to auctions and classifieds for the Telstra subsidiary Sensis (www.tradingpost.com.au) based on Intershop’s Enfinity Suite 6 standard software. The site was the leading shopping platform of its kind in Australia in 2008.

The contract, which has now been finalized, covers a range of services for Tradingpost and other Sensis Group portals, including testing as well as operational and general support.

The three year contract is of substantial strategic importance for Intershop. Telstra is one of the largest and most well known companies in Australia. Intensifying the cooperation represents an important step towards adding C-to-C business to the product portfolio and expanding the market position in the Asia/Pacific region. In addition, by gaining a long-term platinum account, Intershop is enhancing the reliability of planning for the coming years.
