Jena, February 3, 2011 –– From additional sales channels to intuitive order processes, rich Internet applications (RIAs) are transforming e-commerce for consumers and providers alike by enabling the creation of experience-oriented online shopping, customizable information portals, and optimized management applications. A wide range of functionality is available under the RIA umbrella, including Web-based applications (Ajax), player-based functionality (Flash, Flex, and Silverlight), and client-oriented functions (AIR and Java). RIAs offer customizable user environments, combine different data sources into a single work environment or information environment, and streamline complex interactions and transactions.

 Store managers are also leveraging the opportunities offered by RIAs to create additional sales channels with minimum effort, e.g., mobile channels via iPhone or Android smart phone. In their latest survey of e-commerce platforms, industry analysts at Forrester noted the ability of Enfinity Suite to seamlessly integrate RIAs.
