Baur Fulfillment Solutions Teams with Intershop

Intershop and Baur Versand extend business relationship by joining forces on fulfillment

Jena, Germany - October 25, 2006 - Coinciding with the 2006 German Mail-Order Conference taking place until tomorrow in Wiesbaden, Intershop Communications AG is announcing a wide-ranging alliance with a subsidiary of BAUR Versand (GmbH & Co KG). Effective immediately, Baur Fulfillment Solutions will support Jena-based Intershop’s fulfillment operations, with the two companies joining forces to market a comprehensive range of services in this sector. Both partners expect the significant synergy in terms of customer base, product offering, and service portfolio to deliver business growth.

This move represents the extension of a long-standing customer relationship with Baur Versand as a user of Intershop’s e-commerce software to include a new Intershop activity. Intershop will contribute its e-commerce and online marketing portfolio to the alliance, while Bauer will provide fulfillment services.

Baur Fulfillment Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of BAUR Versand (GmbH & Co KG), becomes Intershop’s most important partner for realizing its fulfillment business, which has been an integral part of the company’s product portfolio since it began offering full-service e-commerce at the start of 2006. This means that Intershop covers the full range of e-commerce business processes, from software, services, and fulfillment to online marketing and logistics.
