Customer portal, B2B marketplace or after-sales portal:
Recap of Hannover Messe 2019
5 days of demonstrations, presentation of IoT concepts and many new contacts. Intershop's first presence at the Hannover Messe was a complete success.
The world's leading machine and plant manufacturers not only found Smart Shelf, Smart Drill and the Microsoft HoloLens at our booth, but also concepts on how spare parts shops can be implemented in a future-proof B2B marketplace or customer portal. "A bundle of products and associated services", says Volker John, Sales Manager DACH, "is ideal for manufacturers who want to improve customer loyalty. Our Intershop solution is already capable of being connected to smart machines so that maintenance intervals or spare parts can be booked semi-automatically. In our discussions, it became clear that there was a considerable need for this.
The Smart Drill was of particular interest to the visitors, as Product-as-a-Service will be a major disruptive factor in the manufacturing industry. Using the real example of a drilling machine that can only be used when the deposited crypto account is sufficiently balanced, many trade fair participants showed great interest.
John adds: "We are delighted about the many contacts and ideas that are being discussed in mechanical engineering for a digital future. In the coming weeks we will continue the discussions and see how we can realize the discussed concepts and ideas for the interested parties, be it via after-sales portals, digital marketplaces or a smart spare parts shop".
