Beyond B2C: Enhancing Customer Reach through Marketplace Integration
Intershop introduces the Intershop Marketplace Adapter (IMPA)
- Seamless exchange of Catalog, Product and Order information with Intershop Marketplace Adapter
Jena, December 11, 2008 – Intershop Communications AG introduces the Intershop Marketplace Adapter (IMPA), a standard software allowing businesses to further automate the sale of their online merchandise in high-traffic and immensely popular Internet marketplaces.
Intershop Marketplace Adapter simplifies the complex data transfer between Internet marketplaces and the Intershop Enfinity Suite 6 E-Commerce Software. With this powerful interfacing tool, online businesses can significantly reduce the operational costs of data maintenance and accelerate the exchange of product and order information.
“The IMPA solution offers a mutually beneficial interface for both an online business and a marketplace. The business gains significant visibility and increased sales, while the marketplace expands its product offering and increases the value of its website to the end customer.” says Tobias Zadow, Solutions Manager at Intershop.
In an increasingly competitive e-commerce industry, the most successful online business has mastered a multichannel strategy. A simple but powerful tactic in this strategy involves marketplace integration – a cost-effective and highly efficient way to increase online revenues. According to a study conducted by the German mail-order network, the potential for growth is enormous: in 2007 almost 40% of all mail-orders were placed on the Internet, the majority of those orders were placed on Otto.de, Quelle.de, Neckermann.de, and Amazon. These Internet marketplaces can be interconnected utilizing IMPA.
Intershop Marketplace Adapter was developed in cooperation with Intershop Communication AG and its longtime technology partner novomind AG. Intershop Market Place Adapter is based on novomind’s iPOEMTM software.
