„Online Shop of the Year 2008“ runs on Intershop Software
- hagebau.de chosen at the German Mail Order Congress in the Business-to-Consumer category
- Intershop Software proves again high flexibility and efficiency
Jena, October 7, 2008 – On October 1st, 2008, the 12th German Mail Order Congress chose the website www.hagebau.de to be the Online Shop of the Year 2008, in the Business-to-Consumer category. hagebau.de is operated and continuously developed by baumarkt direkt – Joint Venture of the Otto Group and the hagebau trade association.
The e-commerce standard software Enfinity Suite 6 of Intershop is situated behind the customer-friendly online building centre. After a project run time of only four months, baumarkt direkt launched the hagebau website in July 2007.

This is the fourth time since 2005 after otto.de, lenscare.de and sqoops.de. that an online shop using Enfinity as the technical basis has received this award at the German Mail Order Congress, Just as in the case of hagebau.de, Intershop had contributed significantly to the successful outcome of the projects in most other Internet presentations that won the award. The success of their customers is something the Intershop software developers and consultants can rightly be proud of, without themselves being in the limelight.
This year, the hagebau.de website convinced the jury with its clear and simple user guidance, the emotional way of addressing the customers, and by integrating the users. Users are now able to add their evaluations or complete the existing article information in product wikis. In addition to that, the website has helpful customer features such as zoom function and useful product descriptions, as well as a search function providing excellent product search results. Starting the Guided Tour with the hagebau,de advertising figurehead Mike Krüger makes the visitor experience the advantages of this website with ease. Another plus is the successful linking of the three sales channels: online, catalogue and store trade. A Location Finder makes the contact addresses and actions of the hagebau markets to be available online. It is possible to personalise the website under offer and Location Finder.
