Intershop Supplies Nedis with E-Commerce Solution
European Consumer Electronics Supplier Enhances E-Commerce Platform
Jena/Amsterdam - June 20, 2006 - Intershop Communications AG (Prime Standard: ISH2) will be supplying the Dutch company Nedis with its Enfinity Suite 6 e-commerce solution. In its twenty-three year history, Nedis has grown to become a European market leader in consumer electronics and accessories. Corresponding agreements between Intershop and Nedis have already been signed in Amsterdam. All revenues from this new contract should be posted in fiscal 2006.
Nedis delivers more than 80,000 different products from its catalog and services over 90,000 customers worldwide. The Internet has become their single most important sales channel over the last five years. Today almost 75% of Nedis' business is done through online ordering.
The opportunities the Intershop platform offers to better serve its existing customers and to develop new Internet and marketing initiatives in different markets were the main reasons to deploy the new technology. Nedis will be leveraging the Enfinity Suite 6 Business Channel, Consumer Channel, and Partner Channel in order to further extend their Internet strategy.
Jacob Gilad, Founder and CEO at Nedis: "Thanks to the new website, our customers will have real-time access to all the information they need and can place orders, request quotes, obtain the contact details of our nearest warehouse, and manage their accounts."
