Intershop Receives First Major Contract for Full-Service E-Commerce

Intershop to handle full e-commerce operations for major manufacturer of branded goods

Jena, Germany - May 30, 2006 - Intershop Communications AG (Prime Standard: ISH2) today announced it had received the first comprehensive contract from a major international brand based in one of the German-speaking countries for its new Full-Service E-Commerce division.

This project involves Intershop taking responsibility for all the customer's e-commerce processes worldwide. The core technology will be provided by Intershop, in the shape of the company's packaged Enfinity Suite 6 software. Additionally, Jena-based Intershop will handle all other aspects of online operations, from IT services and online marketing through to debtor management, payment, logistics, and dealing with returns.

"Securing this first big comprehensive contract represents a milestone achievement for Intershop," says Ralf Männlein, the Intershop board member responsible for sales and marketing. "Realizing this major end-to-end e-commerce project will allow Intershop to demonstrate that it has evolved from a pure software provider to a holistic e-commerce company."

The project is currently planned for completion in the late summer of 2006, when all the customer's e-commerce operations will be activated. Intershop will reveal the customer's identity at a press conference scheduled to coincide with going live.
