The eOscar 2006 goes to...

Intershop recognizes top projects with eOscars: coveted prizes go to Schott, Lenscare und Williams Lea

Jena, Germany - March 13, 2006 - Coinciding with CeBIT, Intershop Communications awarded its eOscars for the eighth consecutive year. The winners of these prizes for the most successful <nobr>e-commerce</nobr> projects are <nobr>Lenscare AG</nobr>, <nobr>Schott AG</nobr> and Williams Lea. Entries are judged in the categories "Best B2C Solution", "Best B2B Solution", and "Best Procurement Solution". The eOscar Awards Ceremony took place on <nobr>March 10</nobr> at the eOscar gala, where Intershop's customers and partners were welcomed by company <nobr>CEO Jürgen</nobr> Schöttler.

The members of this year's jury are Dunja Koelwel, <nobr>e-commerce</nobr> Magazin, Marina Walser, Area Marketing Director, Novell, <nobr>Prof. Dr. Detlef</nobr> Lobenstein, Fachhochschule Erfurt, Burkhardt Lowe, Manager <nobr>e-Business</nobr> Program Management, smart and Jörg Krumbiegel, Vice President Engineering, Intershop.

The eOscar in the "Best B2C Solution" category was scooped by <nobr>Lenscare AG</nobr>. Over the past ten years, <nobr>Lenscare AG</nobr> has established itself as Europe's biggest mail-order contact lens supplier. The company now plans to expand its successful business model by selling contact lenses, care products, and accessories through its own online store, as well as via partner web stores. To enable Lenscare to provide its customers with the consistently high quality and outstanding service they have come to expect, the company has a powerful platform that offers excellent stability and performance.

The prize in the "Best Procurement Solution" category went to <nobr>UK-based</nobr> Williams Lea's online procurement system. Williams Lea is a leading business process outsourcing company specialising in Corporate Information Solutions. Intershop partner Crimsonwing developed an <nobr>e-procurement</nobr> solution, which Williams Lea branded Immedia. This is built on the Intershop Enfinity platform and Procurement Channel to deliver all forms of procurement practised by Williams Lea in a single solution.

For the "Best B2B Solution" award Schott was declared as eOscar winner. The Schott Unit Schott <nobr>Rohrglas GmbH</nobr> is a key, long-standing Intershop client with a scalable system that features comprehensive functionality, such as, additional product information, customer-specific catalog views, product lists, and pricing rules, as well as order tracking options for its business clients. Schott Rohrglas serves approximately 300 business customers via its <nobr>e-commerce</nobr> portal offering over 10,000 products in four different languages.
