Jena, Germany – October 29, 2004 – Intershop Communications AG (Prime Standard: ISH1) today announced its results for the third quarter of 2004 ended September 30, 2004.
Third quarter revenue in 2004 totaled Euro 4.5 million, as against Euro 4.9 million in the previous quarter. The license revenue included in this amounted to Euro 0.7 million. Total operating costs (cost of revenue plus operating expenses) amounted to Euro 6.1 million. Intershop reported a net loss of Euro 1.4 million or Euro 0.06 per share in the third quarter, as against Euro 0.1 million or Euro 0.00 per share in the previous quarter.
Total cash, including cash and cash equivalents, marketable securities, and restricted cash rose from Euro 8.4 million as of June 30, 2004 to Euro 10.3 million as of September 30, 2004. This includes unrestricted cash of Euro 3.6 million, which amounted to Euro 2.3 million at the end of the previous quarter (June 30, 2004). The Euro 1.9 million increase in total liquidity is accounted for by the cash capital increase (Euro 1.5 million) and operating activities (Euro 0.4 million) – in particular the reduction in accounts receivable. Intershop is expecting an annual loss for fiscal year 2004 of between Euro 4.5 million and Euro 5.5 million.
