With Intershop 7, customers can find the items they want regardless of typing errors, phonetic spelling, compound words, singulars, and plurals—plus there’s no need for time-consuming manual maintenance. A dropdown list containing possible terms appears as soon as the first letters are typed. This function is also error-tolerant and self-learning. In addition, you can use Intershop 7 to display banners, promotions, or selected products whenever customers search for specific terms. This enables you to implement special promotions or guide your customers immediately to the page they need, e.g., when searching for specific service areas.

Discover a more intelligent way of advising your customers. Let Intershop 7 ask all the right questions then convert the replies into product suggestions and recommendations. Your customers receive a suggestion after each reply, enabling them to select the product that best meets their needs.

Recommend products:
Intershop Advanced Recommendation Engine
Recommending products to your customers is one of the most effective ways of filling carts and increasing sales. The Intershop 7 Advanced Recommendation Engine analyzes the behavior of each individual customer—clicks, searches, purchases, shopping carts, wish lists, etc.—compares the results with those of other users and then generates recommendations for other products that the customer is highly likely to buy. Each additional piece of information, each response to a recommendation, is automatically incorporated into subsequent calculations.

SCOOBOX®
Social media is everywhere these days—and widely used by your customers. With SCOOBOX®, it’s easy to get closer to your customers on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking platforms. You can build your own community and create a communications platform within existing social media or inside your online store. Customers and potential customers can exchange information on products, topics, and trends or contact you directly. In the process, you can find out more about your customers, align your strategy more closely with your target audience, and generate loyalty for your store.

Program your own success:
Intershop Studio
Intershop Studio is an Eclipse-based development environment for Intershop 7. It enables you to adapt the existing business logic to your requirements via a graphical user interface. All the components of an Intershop cartridge—templates, pipelines, static files, Java code, properties, etc.—can be accessed and edited using Intershop Studio. You can also use a fully integrated UML editor to model new business objects and display model elements—e.g., classes or interfaces—in diagram form as a way of visualizing hierarchical relationships. Intershop Studio automatically generates the corresponding Java code. Using a special wizard, you can make functions available to other applications as Web services and incorporate Web services from other systems.

Analyze your business:
Intershop Customer Information Center
The Intershop Customer Information Center (CIC) provides you with all the key data for your online store, which can then be processed and presented as required. You can use this information to evaluate the behavior of customers and other site visitors, derive new strategies to increase your online revenue, precisely analyze and optimize each Intershop 7 installation using comprehensive statistics, monitor all technical aspects of your store, and quickly identify any irregularities. The CIC service is part of Intershop 7 and provides business information and technical reports for evaluation via a secure Internet interface.
