Dr. Jochen Wiechen
In his role as CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Dr. Jochen Wiechen takes on responsibility of all administrative departments, including Finance and Communication, additionally to Intershop’s technical departments, which he had been heading already since 2013 as CTO (Chief Technical Officer). From his previous roles in large and mid-sized software companies, Dr. Wiechen brings extensive experience in the development and positioning of software solutions. Before joining Intershop, Dr. Wiechen was Vice President at SAP AG, overseeing product strategy as well as product management, development, and support for the “Workforce Performance Builder.” Prior to this, he served as a member of the Executive Board and Head of Product Development & Support at datango AG, where he was in charge of the company’s product portfolio. Previous stages in his career have included the role of CTO at venture capital company Martlet Venture Management Ltd., where he was responsible for technology strategy and development, as well as roles at Psipenta GmbH and PSI AG. Dr. Wiechen holds a PhD in physics.
As a member of the managing board, Axel Köhler heads Intershop´s teams of Sales, Marketing, and Professional Services. As Senior Vice President Global Sales and Marketing he previously was in charge of the global sales and marketing activities. Axel Köhler has worked in the IT industry for more than 20 years. He started his sales career at the mainframe specialist Amdahl. After holding various management positions at the storage vendor EMC Köhler resigned in 2011 from there as Director of Sales in Germany and member of the management. Following that, he took over the responsibility as Managing Director of Dell Halle GmbH acting at the same time as General Manager for the segment of public sector customers. He graduated as engineer from the University of Zittau/Görlitz. Later, he continued at the prestigious business school IMD Lausanne.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Christian Oecking works as a senior advisor. He entered consulting and software development in 1985 while studying mechanical engineering at the University of Dortmund. In 1993 he switched to EDS Electronic Data Systems, where he worked as the director of business development and was a member of company management. In 1998 he moved to Siemens and took over the national, and as of 2001 global outsourcing business. In 2009 Christian Oecking assumed the chairmanship of the company management of Siemens IT Solutions and Services GmbH (SIS). In this role, he bore joint responsibility for the successful turnaround of the company and the subsequent sale of SIS to ATOS. In 2001 he founded the Cloud Computing and Outsourcing work group at Bitkom, which he led as chairman until 2010. Christian Oecking now supports national and international companies in positions on supervisory and advisory boards. His essential interests include sales, operational excellence and corporate transformation.
Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Ulrich Prädel looks back at more than 30 years of management experience in the IT Industry after he had completed his university education in computer sciences at University of Dortmund. A major step in his professional career had been the position with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where he was responsible for software development activities and outsourcing units for more than 10 years. From 1999 to 2000 he led all outsourcing activities of EDS for communications industry clients in EMEA. In 2001 Ulrich Prädel joined Capgemini where he held several international management positions including the role of Group Sales Director and member of the Global Capgemini Management Board. Since September 2016 Ulrich Prädel has been working as Executive Advisor. He supports IT companies worldwide as member of supervisory boards and top level consultant. His focus areas span from sales to transformation and restructuring.
Prof. Dr. Louis Velthuis

Prof. Dr. Louis Velthuis has held the chair for controlling at the Faculty of Law, Management and Economics at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz since 2008.Born in South Africa, he completed a training program at Deutsche Bank in Germany to become a bank clerk, before studying, graduating and further qualifying as a university professor in business administration at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.His interest in research as well as his many years of practical project experience principally concern the organization of internal and external accounting, the design and setup of incentive systems, performance measuring and the development of concepts in value-based company management. In addition to his teaching and research work, Prof. Velthuis is also an assessor, consultant and lecturer for auditing courses and a member of the work group ‘Internal Accounting’ at the Schmalenbach Society.
