Intershop: New Supervisory Board members appointed

Jena, October 19, 2010 – On October 19, 2010, Jena District Court resolved to appoint two new members to the Supervisory Board of Intershop Communications AG: Günter Lorenz, previously member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, and Dr. Herbert May, previously member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG. They have been initially appointed until the next Shareholders Meeting of Intershop Communications AG, which is scheduled to take place in June 2011.

The appointment by Jena District Court became necessary after Bernhard Wöbker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Peter Georg Baron von der Howen, Supervisory Board member, retired from their positions on September 30, 2010.

Günter Lorenz has held several executive positions in leading German companies, including five years as the Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG. Today, he is a senior advisor for Buchanan Industrial Technologies GmbH, a company providing established SMEs with growth capital.

Dr. Herbert May is a consultant with focus on technology companies and has more than 20 years experience in senior management positions, including at Alcatel, as Managing Director of the Telekom subsidiary DeTeSystems – now T-Systems – and as Supervisory Board member of Deutsche Telekom AG.
